Buhara Primary School in Kicwamba Sub county Kabarole District is one of the schools that were given Eco-san toilets and a water tank by Natural Resources Defense Initiative (NRDI) with support from Join for Water.
This was after NRDI in collaboration with Join for Water realized that the only way of keeping a girl child in school is by providing her with basic facilities they can use during that time of the month when they experience their menstruation periods.
A functional toilet facility that provides for girl child health, can only be utilized when pupils have access to clean and safe water.
The water tank was commissioned by the Secretary for Health and Gender Kabarole District who applauded NRDI and Join for Water for the insightful thought about the girl child and also commended them for donating facilities that are environmental friendly and are aimed at conserving and protecting the environment.
